Just wanted to write you and let you know how Tessa is doing! It’s been almost 10 years now (she will be 10 September 30th) and just wanted to let you know how much love she has brought to my family! Even at her age she is very active and loves loves loves swimming and chasing the ball! She is in great health and great spirits. She is amazing with the children and has never hurt a fly. Spry as ever she is very active and loves her B-A-L-L! She is very curious and will defend her people no matter what. The biggest cuddler ever she just loves a good movie and chill time on the couch! She is the light of our lives and I can’t imagine our lives without her! Even as I type this she is laying at my feet snoring away, dreaming of running and chasing and digging

Boone is doing great. Here's a couple pics from our August camping trip. He loves the water and is quite a swimmer. He swam in 5 different lakes in one day! He's looking forward to opening day for pheasant in a couple of weeks. He's showing no signs of slowing down. Clocked him at 40 kmh running alongside my truck the other day. Thanks again for letting us adopt him. He makes my day every day!
At 3, she is a happy healthy girl, living a wonderful life in Comox, where there are many woody trails to explore, rivers to swim in, and the beaches to play on. In the attached photo you will see her unusual appearance. While she has remained a very light yellow she has developed a darker 'mask' on her face, which gives her a very unique look. She is a very sweet dog, and she and Spirit mean the world to us. -Kathy

HUNTER is doing awesome! He travels,just spent part of the summer in Black Hills, South Dakota. He drives around in a fancy ride (a Polaris Slingshot). He only eats a raw diet, which includes supplements for his eyes, coat, joints and bones. He is a very happy dog and there are times I wish I had his life!

Rigs is a lean
55lbs. She is a gorgeous looking dog and very muscular. But more
importantly she is a great dog to be around. I don't think she has ever
had a bad day in her life. She smiles from the time she gets up until the
time she goes to bed. She wants to lay on top of you because beside you
is not close enough. She loves nothing better than to jump on our bed and
wake Rosalyn up in the morning with slobbery kisses or to head out for a
morning swim and some retrieves with her sister Abbey.
Oh by the way, that
barking problem you said she had....not a problem at all. Meal times and
when she wants in or needs to go out are the only times we hear her.
I took her to puppy
retrieving school at 4 months old and within a month she was retrieving real birds
better than some of the dogs that were a year older. I am very pleased
with her calmness at the line waiting to be sent. Next year, I have no
doubt she will get her junior hunt designation. In the mean time, hunting
season is getting closer and she would be ready now to go work.

Good Morning
Just thought I would send you this picture of Jag. I have 2 lawn chairs that I use when working on my needlework. Jag decided that one of them should be for him. You are so right that they sleep in the most unusual positions. He is an absolute joy in the house. When I walk him everyone comments on how shiny his coat is and how beautiful he is. He makes friends with all the dogs we meet and recently played with a 1 year old great dane - they ran around like crazy until both were tired.

Hi June!
It's been awhile since I have sent you an update so I thought it was time. Huxley was gone all of the summer (May-Sept) at the trainers so we really missed having him but knew he was in good hands. He did EXCEPTIONALLY well at the trainer. Dave said he was the easiest dog he has ever trained to force fetch. He was driven, caught on easy to everything and was a hard worker. He even had to mention how patient and good he was with kids. He also had to comment on his size, Huxley weighs about 90lbs and was by far the biggest dog being trained and actually the biggest lab he has ever trained.
Mike has taken him out every weekend since the geese have showed up and says he keeps getting better and better each time. This is definitely what Huxley was meant to do.
We are so pleased with how Huxley has matured and the dog he has turned in to. He is truly a wonderful dog. He is EXTREMELY patient, gentle and kind with Remi. He will just lay on the floor while she crawls all over him. She loves him so much, she won't give us kisses but if we ask her to give Huxley kisses she just starts smacking her lips and runs to him 😜
We want to thank you so much for breeding such wonderful dogs. We are so happy that Huxley has come in to our lives and came at a time we needed him most. He has truly helped heal our broken hearts from the loss of our first lab. We can't imagine our lives without Hux!

It was so good to talk to you tonight, after the passing of our 14 year old best furry friend, Sampson.
We loved him like family, and he never let us down. We have many friends who have Labs from various other breeders but never have we seen one with the gentle but protective nature as Sam. We always laughed and said he thought he was human…..only better! Please keep us in mind as being able to be blessed with yet another wonderful friend from your kennel.

I purchased Harley in 2006 from your kennel. His father was a blond and his mother was a black. He is now 9 years old (almost). I have had 6 labs (all male, all registered, all black and all field trial type labs) covering 60 years and Harley along with Barney (his predecessor who lived to 16 years of age and died a week after getting Harley) have been the best of the bunch. Harley looks like Remi but is small for a male lab. But he is a wonderful companion. We lived in Regina for several years but now live on my sailboat in Victoria. Harley loves the lifestyle and is a real attraction and friend for all my dock neighbours. He has a wonderful disposition, is extremely smart He loves baseball and swimming, which is does every day here....and he has boundless amounts of energy....but fortunately there is an on-off switch and when he is not rompiing around he is very quiet and restful. He is very attractive..and knows it. This combined with his insatiable appetite presents its challenges around people who do not understand labs, but we manage.
I am not presently looking to purchase another lab as Harley is in good health...but one never knows. The only problem Harley has is that he is heat intolerant and the vets have suggested that he may have malignant hypothermia. Have you had any issues with this? While Harley has had some side effects from the heat, I am able to deal with it by mixing his baseball games with swimming in the ocean to keep him cool and to keep his symptions to a minimum.
....attached are a couple of pictures of Harley. Harley eats anything and loves fish...the more the better. He has an insatiable appetite that I have to manage. His weight in the summer is 75 to 80 lbs so he is not big for a male, but he would be over a 100 if I let him eat to his hearts content.

I would say that he will easily live to be 14-16 years of age....barring something like cancer.

Chip was rehomed back to Saskatchewan. His owner in Ottawa met with unexpected long term health issues and was not even able to walk the dog. Sorry, Pierre, you will miss your energetic companion. All the best as you begin your journey to become well again.

Huxley (born May 7/14) with baby Remi
Hoping things are well with everyone! I'm sure just like everyone you were quite busy around Christmas and New Years. How are things? I still look at your website regularly so I see not too long ago all the pups from the previous litter left your home. I'm sure they went to wonderful homes.
Not too much new here. Huxley is doing great and becoming such a wonderful dog. We had him neutered back in November and he bounced back very quickly from that. We currently found a kennel around where we live so he has visited there twice now and enjoys it.
He is still growing lots and we get so many compliments on what a good looking dog he is (we couldn't agree more!). He knows basic commands so we are working on incorporating common commands used in the field. He LOVES retrieving and wow does he have a nose! Always seems to find something in the ditch when we are out for walks.
He is great with Remi, shows no jealousy or aggression towards her and she is definitely used to getting kisses from him.
Hope all is well with you and your fam (and pooches too!). Take care and keep in touch.
