I wanted to write because a friend was asking for a good lab breeder...and well she knows Lucy so I told her to give you a call. Of course, looking up your email, led me double checking your site to see how things were going...and of course snooping cute puppy pictures.
Lucy is the light of our lives. She spends her days helping her kids with school, coming to the clinic, or being a "stinky sister" to Stella. She has one of the best personalities of any lab I've ever met. And she grew up beautiful: Long and lean with reversed hair between her eyes and under her nose, making her look like she's wearing spectacles and has a little moustache.
She's starting training for ultra-marathon running soon. She gets to start with my slow and steady... and short :)...runs, but hopefully she will work up to racing with Matthew.
Right now she's stretched out in front of the fire with Stella. There are two dog mats, but they always manage to share one or the other. I've attached some pictures of her and Stella for you to see her all grown up.

Great to hear from you. I keep checking on your website every now and again just to keep up with what WINDARA is doing. So far we have restrained ourselves from wanting more dogs! I think deep down inside we know there just would not be enough space in our canoe. Ha, ha.
Daisy is doing wonderfully. Rod and I keep remarking that we don't think we could ever get another dog with the amazing temperament and personality that she has. She has set the bar too high!

Duke is doing great. Sleeping 8 hrs at night and no crying anymore. We took him to the lake today and he jumped in and followed me swimming. He loved the water! We already have one of the books you mentioned and have enrolled Duke and ourselves in a 4 week one on one one puppy training course. I have been strict and he knows the word "no". He's heard it quite a bit.

Hi June!
Just wanted to let you know Odie came to work with my most of last week and he was the perfect little office dog! Most of the time he just curled up under my desk, or chilled out with his toys or in his kennel. He is such a good boy!
I have a feeling he is quite an intuitive dog. Last night I started to have a migraine coming on, about the same time that it started, he woke up and came over to my side of the bed and tried jumping up and wouldn't leave (his bed is on Johnny's side) and slept on my chest! It's something he has never done before!
He is also getting really good on the leash! We can almost walk in a straight line now, and yesterday we tried waking with another dog. It was a distraction for him at the beginning and he just wanted to play, but at the middle we got him walking in the line! By the end it was play time again but we did pretty good for some solid stretches! He is doing really well for only being with us for 2 going on 3 weeks! At least I think so. Well I hope you had a good weekend!

Thought I would send an update on Murphy since it's nearing a year since he was born at Windara! He is a fantastic dog, calm when we are but will give 'er on a dime if anyone will play with him! He loves anyone and everyone, just a great boy! He's 76 lbs these days but it looks like he's still got a bit more thickening out to do! Look forward to seeing the pictures of the litters you have this spring/summer!

I've been meaning to email you and say how much we LOVE Loki, he turned out to be the greatest lab anyone could ask for. It took many puppy classes and numerous hours but we are proud to say he is a great pup (not such a puppy anymore) and we are so grateful we found you when we were looking for a fur animal to add to our family. DAISY as a 2 YEAR OLD Saskatoon, Sask.
Hi June,
For some reason you have been on my mind lately. I just thought I’d touch base with you.
We are so blessed to have Daisy in our lives. She is the perfect pet. Quite often when I am exercising her in the river or she’s running around at the dog park along the river people have actually stopped me to ask where we got her because she is such a lovely dog. She is so happy to get along and play with others (even the tiny one’s). When we go out to our farm or the cabin and we meet up with people they always say what a well behaved dog she is and how well she listens. She sure does except when it comes to shoes! It has been quite expensive over the last few months but she’s slowly getting better.
Her temperament is amazing. I can’t help but ask (b/c I have been asked many times…) why didn’t she pass the guide dog criteria? Just curious.
This summer she has also learned to love sailing, canoeing and floating on the knee boards (it’s hilarious). Every morning while at the lake this summer she would swim with the ducks that swam by – also stealing the bread pieces we were throwing in the water. They would let her get about 1 foot away. It drove her mad with excitement!

Here is another picture of Luna and myself. I'm pretty sure she's even smiling in this one.
Luna is a healthy, active dog who everyone comments how smart and well behaved she is. She is a fabulous off leash and on leash walker. She loves kids and plays with them in amazing ways. Some of the kids she plays with play hide and seek, tag, and even make her sit and wait and hide her toy and tell her go get it.
She is an amazing and loving dog, who... once in a while reminds me that I forgot to take out the garbage last night by displaying it over my living room. LOL

October 8/2010 ZOE is doing wonderful and is certainly coming out of her "shy shell", lots of playing in the back yard, and really no crying at all, no crate for sleeping, but enjoys an old couch we have. She is starting to learn to fetch and am working on the SIT thing. No accidents in the house at all.

March 17,2011 Hi, ZOE has been awesome. We got her spayed today,she's doing great and the blood work came back good. She has to rest for 7-10 days now. Dear Friend in Daisy......yes it is fast approaching ...the birthday of the one of the greatest gifts in my life...we are inseparable....thanks to you....Really no words to describe how much we love her....I could go on for hours with stories....endless, endless love and wonder.....hope you are well....was on the website the other day....sad about the small litter....I just know another Windara dog is in our future ...you'll see.....

hi...so happy to hear from you....was checking out your website yesterday....incredible......Daisy is wonderful...although eating us out of house and home....thanks for using the most expensive DOG food....just kidding....we love her so much........are you ready for this.....i walk her everyday....with NO...yes NO.....that's NO leash...totally heals all the way.....mind you, I bring a leash just in case other dogs are around...but am so proud of her....and after her walk....leash goes in her mouth and home she goes on her own....my neighbour says I am the dog whisperer....and i replied....no just quality breeding , from quality people.....my son tj...who has moved out come two times a week just to see her...yesterday tears in eyes as she has come to resemble our late dog ginnie in looks and demeanor......we are forever grateful......so what does she do wrong...well how about sleeping in our bed....yes ....the first dog i ever had that does so.....she loves hugging....jumps up on my chairs...both front paws around my neck and head cuddled below my chin.....so damn cute....thank the doggie door in back entrance has made things so convenient.....the girls at tim hortons still love her....and give her a bone with every coffee....my girl.....glad you are getting some good weather....and you do realize that daisy will not be the last dog we buy from our good friends at Windara......would you like us to send some pics? t

Sorry for the late response...we were in Arizona on vacation. Juno is doing great! We are very happy with her. She has turned into such a wonderful pet.
Went through the whole puppy biting/jumping stage but has settled down in that department. She still gets excited when people come to the door and wants to jump up so we're working on that. She sits, lays down, shakes a paw. It was pretty funny in the spring...she's only peed/pooped on snow so she would find the smallest clump of snow and go on it.
She is so great to have around. We always get compliments on how pretty she is.
Sorry, Jocelyn that Juno is so busy..........I warned you she would be! Glad you can cope!
