Our granddaughters came to the farm for a holiday. Often the farm is the place to learn about life - and death. Black male (born 10th and wore the blue collar) died this afternoon

 

Thankfully I did not pre-sell this puppy as he was not as large and strong as the rest.

I am not surprised he died as the last two days he has not been thriving and gaining weight.

If you have chosen a black male, you will still get your puppy.

I have been away today, and when I got home tonight I had a surprise waiting.

 Little black female has her eyes wide open.

None of the other pups have their eyes open a crack yet.

(notice chocolate male is sleeping on his back like a true lab!)

MIDAZZ leaves her puppies to grab a snack

                                             LUXE sees her opportunity to  'play mommy'
                                               She is very intrigued with the little grunters
                                                            Hope she always like babies,
                                        cause in 2017 we are planning for her to become  a mommy

10 days. Baths are getting bigger. Midazz gets through them all and it about time to start over.

Big difference between the largest  (1.1 kg) and the smallest puppy (605 grams), but I know why. Little fella with the blue collar gets the smallest teet everytime.

It has been 6 weeks since Luxe broke her ankle. Vet says she can begin normal activities as tolerated

                                      ....so she figured there is no better way than a good soak.

                                   Pleased as punch that she fits in the drinking water tub!

Growing like the weeds in my garden

                        When Midazz went for a break this morning she brings her stuffed cat
                                        for a game of fetch. (We did tug-of war instead)
                                                Then she takes it in with her pups.
                                     CAT BEWARE when those puppies wake up!

One day old. When having this procedure done, I discover after caring for 42 litters, I still have trouble telling the difference between male and female!! Upon looking more closely, we have 2 more black boys and two less black girls.

Dew claws--GONE!
